Presidents Report for December CAT-A-LOG

As I write my last report for 2018 I reflect on how much we have done this year.

The Register Reports each month confirm how active we are. There have been some interesting events and outings for our members to enjoy. Victoria is an amazing state because we have so much right here on our doorstep - all within an easy drive in our Jaguars.

We have added one more Concours and Display Day to the clubs history books. At this years event we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the release of Sir William Lyons masterpiece the XJ6. Several fine examples of the model including a Series I, II and III and an XJC were on display around the dome tent.

Phil Curtis and the members of the Concours committee have excelled themselves once again. A special mention to Ray Stebbins and his wife Susan Wraight who produced the magnificent graphics for the poster and November CAT-A-LOG front cover. We are very fortunate to have their professional expertise to produce such outstanding designs for club events.

Individual achievements were announced on the day. Trophies including perpetual awards will be presented on 5 February 2019 at the monthly meeting. There will be a two course dinner prior to the meeting and you must book on Trybooking to partake of the meal. See full details elsewhere in this CAT-A-LOG.

Our club is hosting the 50th Jaguar National Rally to be held in Albury Wodonga region 29 March to 1 April 2019. This will be followed by a Post Rally Tour showcasing the Yarrawonga/Shepparton/Echuca region to interstate members. The rally will be a fantastic event that you will not want to miss. Many interstate members have already registered. We need Victorian members to support the event. Make sure you go online to www.jaguarnationalrally.org.au and register.

Our club end of year Christmas Picnic will be held on Sunday 9 December. It is BYO everything including lunch, drinks, tables and chairs. This will be the final event of 2018 and I hope to see many of you there. Make sure you check out the details in this CAT-A-LOG.

As I said last month we are collecting gifts again this year for the Smith Family. Bring along a new toy or book to the December meeting. Please do not wrap them. The JCCV elves will ensure they are delivered in time for distribution to the children.

My thoughts are with members who have been unwell this year. I hope next year will be a better one for you.

Best wishes to everyone for the festive season. Stay safe on the road and I will look forward to seeing you in 2019.
