November President's Report

Lyn - Nov 4

It was great to see a packed house at the recent Annual General Meeting.

The 2017/18 committee was elected and the annual awards were presented.  Congratulations to Grant and Bernadette Piekacz who received the Tony Reilly Encouragement Award, Peter and Lorraine Daley and David Cook who received Club Persons’ Awards and Kevin Brown who received the President’s Award.

There were very few changes to last year’s committee. Unfortunately April Hissey had to step down from committee due to work commitments.  Her involvement was appreciated.  April will continue to be involved with social media for the club.

Due to serious health issues Brian Jasper has stepped down from the Editor’s role.  We thank him for his involvement as our Editor and wish him every success with the ongoing treatments.

Our utmost thanks go to Graham Deahl for taking over the coordination of the magazine at very short notice to ensure the final CAT-A-LOGs for this year are produced. He is being assisted by a team of members who have taken on various parts of the production to help out. This is commendable as they are already responsible for other management tasks.

Graham’s arrangements are temporary and we are in urgent need of a member who is willing to take on the Editor’s role.  There is plenty of assistance and advice available for anyone who is interested in coordinating the magazine production. If interested please contact me as soon as possible.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many members of the club who support us by taking on roles other than committee. Their involvement as the various Coordinators and Register Secretaries are vital to the management of our club.

Our Annual Concours and Display Day to be held on Sunday 19 November, is shaping up to be another successful day for us to promote our club to the general public. The event is being organised by our Concours Director, Phil Curtis and his team. Many hands make light work and your help is needed to assist on the day. Please contact Phil if you can give an hour or two to help out.

Polish up your Jaguar, pack a picnic lunch, load up the family and come along and meet up with long standing friends and chat to like minded enthusiasts. I wish every success to members entering their cars in either of the two classes. I look forward to seeing you on the day at Wesley College Glen Waverley for our premier event of the year.
