March President's Report

  Lyn and XK8 4 800x541

Our February meeting was a great start to the year. It was a big night with more than 150 attending. A total of 116 members attended the dinner and others came later for the meeting.

Adrian Givoye, Regional Sales Manager from Jaguar Land Rover Australia joined us for dinner and took part in the Concours’ presentation. It was a pleasure to meet him and I am sure he went home impressed with the passion our members have for the marque.

Congratulations to all the participants in the Concours and to the members who won the perpetual awards. Look for the article with all the results in this Cat-A-LOG.

Thank you again to the Concours Committee, the judges and marshals for helping with the event in November.  Dare I say it is never too early to start getting your Jaguar ready for this year’s event?

I have been reading with interest about Jaguar Land Rovers preparation to launch their first ever electric car, the Jaguar I-PACE.  From 2020 all new Jaguar Land Rover vehicles will be electrified. They will have a portfolio of electrified products across all model range embracing full electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles. They will continue to offer ultra-clean petrol and diesel engines. So watch this space – there will be exciting times ahead.

Our search for an Editor to coordinate CAT-A-LOG production is very urgent.  Graham Deahl has been a great help but it is time for a member or members to take on the role. I am sure you all agree our magazine is very important for our club.  Please call Graham or myself to discuss this further.

Make sure you visit our club website. Ann continues to put a lot of effort into keeping it interesting by providing articles and information for you. The club calendar is on the web and it is also regularly updated to ensure you know about coming events.

Welcome to all new members who have joined our club in the past few months. As well as the monthly meeting on the first Tuesday we have various registers that also meet each month.  There you will find a smaller group of members ready to talk about Jaguars and other social aspects of being a member of our club.

These registers are specific to your Jaguar model.  You are most welcome to join them. Refer to the JCCV Club Contacts page at the back of CAT-A-LOG and you will see when they meet.

As usual there is plenty happening in the motoring world - so much to choose from. The club run on March 11 to Balnarring Country Race Meet will be a great day out.  A chance to show off your Jaguar, enjoy a picnic lunch and have some fun.

Stay safe on the roads.  I will look forward to catching up soon.
