President Lyn with Fabian Ludwig at Berwick Jaguar new showrooms 800x534

The June monthly meeting was a huge success. Our Vice President Trevor Wilkinson organised Jordon Roddy’s Aston Martin DBRS9 to be displayed in the clubrooms. The car is in pristine condition and was of great interest to the members especially when he started it up after the meeting. The effort required to transport it is very much appreciated. We are so fortunate to be given the opportunity to see such rare cars up close and personal.

I visited Berwick Jaguar to see first hand the new showroom that was officially opened last month. There is plenty of natural light to show off the new Jaguars. Of course the convertible white F-Type took my eye but sadly my bank balance prevented me from taking it home.

I was introduced to Fabian Ludwig their Technical Sales Representative. He has some interesting ideas for promoting Jaguar and their dealership. One of which is a display of classic Jaguars to show the history of the marque. This could provide an opportunity for us to promote our club and the dealership by working together.

Fabian also talked about exciting times ahead with the release of the new Jaguar All Electric I-PACE. This is on track to go on sale in Australia from October 2018. There is plenty of information on the web about the I-PACE but I think Andrew Chesterton’s – Cars Guide summary (after he test drove the Jaguar) says it all.

“Park your EV preconceptions at the door with this one. The Jaguar I-Pace is a comfortable, capable and – dare we say it – an exciting SUV that offers the perks of fuel-free motoring without any obvious compromises. “

July will be a busy month. I look forward to seeing some of you on Saturday 28 July at our Winton Sporting Event co-ordinated by our very capable Sporting Director Gavin Moore. As always I am sure it will be one not to be missed. It is a huge event to organise so please give him a ring and offer your help in some way.

Club Permit Holders please make sure you have paid your Club Membership renewal by the end of June or you will be unregistered and uninsured.

Stay safe on the road but enjoy the DRIVE. I am saying no to Driverless cars!
