My interest in motor cars dates back to the early 60s, when, at 16, I found myself looking at the latest edition of Modern Motor magazine. I used to dream about one day owning an E-Type or a Mk 2 at a time when our family car was a Holden FC. The clincher for me was riding in my tutor’s car when after my lesson he would drive me to scouts, his vehicle of choice was a Jaguar Mk 2 3.8, what a machine! The Mk 2 was smooth, powerful and compared to our FC, it was something out of this world. The colour was white with red leather interior, I was hooked and today that is still my favourite colour combination.

In 1975, I began in the motor industry at Reg Hunt Holden and by 1980 I had founded Lou Guthry Motors. Since the late 70's the motor industry has changed dramatically, the internet has had the biggest impact. Our domain louguthry.com.au is now our showroom and thousands of people visit each day.
