A bright blue 2012 Jaguar XKR-S, also known as The Smurf, was a huge star on the floor of the JCCV July club meeting both for its stand-out colour and rarity in Australia.

The XKR-S is only one of six brought to Australia and only 200 produced world-wide.

Its owner described the car as everything a Jaguar GT should be and lived up to the former Grace, Space and Pace brand motto. There might be a little quibble about the Space element of the XKR-S but compared to many Jaguar models it qualified.

At the time of manufacture the car was the most powerful Jaguar one could buy.

Reviews then noted the car’s:

  • Ballistic overtaking ability
  • Race-car like handling
  • Spontaneous acceleration
  • Comfort whether in London traffic or travelling at 250 plus kph on the German autobahn.

Other special features are:

  • Five litre super-charged V8
  • Six-speed ZF auto reworked totally for this car by Jaguar to handle the power
  • 0 to 100 in 4.2 seconds and to 200 kph in 8.6 seconds.
  • 680 Nm torque and 404 kW or 550 hp.

The owner says the car can be driven as a luxury coupe or put into “S” mode where it turns “insane’!
