Welcome to the Modern Classics register

Our register incorporates all models made from 1986 to 2005. These include XJ40, X300, XK8, XJ8, XKR, S-Type, X-Type, XJ6 and Daimler variance of these models.

A little bit of history about our register models - The XJ40 was the last Jaguar Production car influenced by Sir William Lyons, who died in 1985. The new fourth generation XJ was unveiled in October 1986. This new generation XJ was an instant success and a second assembly line was opened in 1987. By 1988, XJ production had increased by a record 41,000 cars per year.

By the early 1990 the next new generation of the XJ was under development, funded by a 200 million investment made by Ford after its takeover of Jaguar in1989.

The X300 was launched in 1994 and the XK8 sports car in 1996.

In 1999 Jaguar released a mid sized saloon the S-Type in order to maximise their market share. This development enabled Jaguar to expand into the compact saloon area and in 2001 the X-Type was released.

Jaguar releases in 2004 included the re-introduction of the XJ6 and a revised S-type with many new features including aluminium panels. The XJ6 is the first Jaguar to be built on the newly designed aluminium platform. This platform will be used for all future Jaguar models.

Our register - We meet at the JCCV Clubrooms, 23 Rosalie Street, Springvale, on the third Wednesday of every month at 8.00pm unless otherwise advertised in the club magazine CatALog. At our meetings we share information that will benefit our members with servicing and maintaining their vehicles. Some of our meetings are held at the premises of local service companies. This gives our members the opportunity to see what the companies have to offer our members.

We participate in club events such as monthly club runs. These club runs are held primarily on the third Sunday and are usually a maximum 2 hours drive to various locations in country Victoria. At our destination we enjoy a picnic or café meal. This is a popular means of enjoying our vehicles and getting to know other club members.

We also enjoy other social functions such as dinner dances at the club, weekends away, driver training days, club sporting events and sharing technical nights with other model registers within our club. We support the JCCV Concours, display days and charity events when possible.

If you own one of the vehicles listed above or are interested in finding out more about the models before purchasing your vehicle, then you would benefit from joining our club and coming to our register meetings. We look forward to hearing from you.
