MK X, 420G

The biggest Jaguar of all, the Mark X holds a special place in Jaguar history. The independent rear suspension and rigid body shell gave great roadability. With a large car capable of more than 120mph and other sports car characteristics, the driver was provided with a luxury package with that famous Grace, Space and Pace.

Inroads were made in the huge USA market and provided very valuable tax credits and other advantages. The quality of finish, combined with innovative mechanical and engineering design with 4.2l motor an option from 1964 made the MK X a surefire winner overseas. It also provided real competition to the upper end of the prestige car market in Britain.

An indefinite number of limousines were built with one used by Sir William Lyons finding it way to Australia.
