RULES FOR "D'ELEGANCE CLASS" ENTRANTS

A Concours D’Elegance is about the standard of a car in original or restored to authentic condition as the manufacturer produced it.  Authenticity will be judged.  The underside will not be judged.

Judging for D’Elegance will be held at the JCCV Club rooms on Saturday 26 November at 10.00am.  Vehicles must be in place by 9.30am.

1.   All entries must be lodged with the Concours Director by Tuesday 8 November, 2011. Late entries not accepted.

2.   All entrants must be financial members of the JCCV and the entrant must own the vehicle. All new members must have had membership ratified by 1st November, 2011. Interstate entrants must be financial member with their club.

3.   Entries may be rejected by the Chief Judge and Concours Director if in their opinion the vehicle entered is not of a worthy standard or that the vehicle has an unfair advantage in the competition.

4.    If during the event any JCCV member considers that an entrant is transgressing some rule an appeal in writing must be lodged with the Concours Director before completion of judging.

5.   All vehicles entered and eligible for any prize must be of the SS, Jaguar or Daimler marque and powered by a   Jaguar engine.

6.   Judges for the event will be appointed by the Chief Judge and the Concours Director.

7.   Each judge has the sole right to assess and deduct points for his/her particular section.

8.   The decision of the judging panel (which includes the Concours Director) is final.

9.   AREAS  JUDGED : Engine Compartment, Interior, Exterior, Boot, Wheels and Tyres, Authenticity.

10. Vehicles in this event will be judged on Saturday 27 November at JCCV club rooms commencing at 10am.     Vehicles must be in place by 9.30am.

11. Vehicles may be driven or transported to the judging location but must be driven into the judging area.

12. The owner or a delegated assistant must be in attendance at all times while the vehicle is being judged.

13. All vehicles presented for judging must have their doors  and windows closed and all doors, bonnet, boot and interior compartments unlocked. Vehicles of open or drophead coupe configuration must have soft tops erected when presented for judging.

14. No preparation or cleaning of cars is permitted once judging has commenced.

15. All vehicles entered must be at the Concours & Display  Day to be held at Wesley College, 620 High Street Road, Glen Waverley, on Sunday 27 November 2011 by 9.30am  and remain there until the presentation of prizes. Vehicles and owners (or representative) not present will be disqualified.

16. Failure to comply with any of the above rules or to act in a manner not in the spirit of the event gives the Concours Director the right to disqualify any entrant.

 

Scoring is by deductions and expressed as a percentage by the following formula. Total deductions available minus points deducted x 100 = percentage scored. Score sheets used are as per ACJC National Rally Manual 2004.

TROPHIES Perpetual trophies will be awarded as follows:

 

Overall Winner, Best Sports Car, Pride of Ownership, Most Desirable Car, Best First Time Entry, Most improved, together with awards for achieving the following levels:

Gold 90.00% and over

Silver 80.00 – 89.99%

Bronze 70.00 – 79.99%

 

MOST IMPROVED - Shall be determined by the Concours Director based on a comparison against those vehicles previous years result.

 

BEST FIRST TIME ENTRY - Shall be awarded to the highest scoring vehicle being entered for judging for the first time in a Concours D’Elegance competition.

 

PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP - Shall be awarded to the vehicle that has the least points deducted in the cleanliness sections.

 

MOST DESIRABLE - Chosen by Concours Director & Chief Judge together with JCCV President or a special guest from the assembled vehicles on the day


RULES FOR "D'ETAT CLASS" ENTRANTS

This is a competition where the car is judged on its overall condition and presentation.  The underside and authenticity will not be judged.

Judging Enthusiast Class will take place at Wesley College on Sunday 27 November 2010 at 10.00am.  Vehicles to be in place by 9.30am.

1.   All entries must be lodged with the Concours Director by Tuesday 8 November, 2010.  Late entries not accepted.

2.   All entrants must be financial members of the JCCV and the entrant must own the vehicle.  All new members must have had membership ratified by 1st November, 2010.

3.   Entries may be rejected by the Chief Judge and Concours Director if in their opinion the vehicle entered is not of a worthy standard or that the vehicle has an unfair advantage in the competition.

5.   Owners must be able to provide proof (if required) of regular use of the vehicle either at JCCV Club runs (at least 3 in current year) or regular commuter use.

7.   Judges for the event will be appointed by the Chief Judge and the Concours Director.
